Outdoor Recreation - Mountain
Home offers numerous recreational opportunities, on and off
the waters: Boating, skiing, scuba-diving, fishing on two
gigantic lakes - Bull Shoals and Norfork - with more than
1,000 miles of shoreline at normal levels. Float and fish
famous area trout streams and rivers - White, North Fork,
the Buffalo, nearby Crooked Creek and more. River and lake
fishing are open year-round; regulated seasonal spear fishing
on the lakes, too!
Parks - Four city parks
with a senior center, youth center, swimming pool, tennis
courts, baseball and softball fields, paved walking/running/bicycling
trails, fitness stations, sand volleyball court, soccer fields,
horseshoe pits, and a historical area with pioneer buildings.
Social Activities - Meet
your friends and make new ones at more than 125 clubs and
organizations reflecting many interests such as performing
music and drama, visual arts, crafts, gardening, hobbies,
volunteering, fishing, hunting, veterans, fraternal, civic,
charitable, and religious groups.

Three 18-hole golf courses - two in Mountain Home itself
- meet the needs of resident and visiting golfers.
One of the courses has a sought-after rating of
(five) stars from Golf Digest's Places to Play
(2005).

School Days - The Mountain
Home public school system is fully state accredited as well
as nationally accredited by the North Central Association,
and competes in 5-A East athletics.
